Alisha Miller, PhD
Clinical Psychologist

People often feel unhappy in their life and need help figuring out what to do. I mix evidence-based techniques with warmth, candor, and humor to help individuals and families better understand their problems and develop a plan to feel better.

Prior to opening South Hills Psychological Services I worked at Strong Foundations Psychological Associates, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and Western Psychiatric Hospital. I am extensively trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and I am also trained in family therapy, parent training, motivational interviewing (MI), mindfulness, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, suicidality, adjustment difficulties, and chronic somatic symptoms. Additionally, I frequently work with individuals seeking parenting guidance and I enjoy working with individuals in the healthcare field to address burnout and work-life balance.

In addition to supporting clients, I am actively involved in prevention and treatment efficacy research through University of Pittsburgh's Services for Teens at Risk (STAR) and Child and Adolescent Bipolar Spectrum Services (CABS). I frequently attend workshops and conferences, have published several articles in peer reviewed journals, and given invited trainings. I've taught at the undergraduate and graduate level and  hold memberships in the  American Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapists (ABCT).
